reatures and opponents
While more traditional d20 fantasy settings are awash with strange and magical creatures, the Avatar: the Last Airbender world is relatively NPC-focused. As such, campaigns set in this world should rely more heavily on non-player characters than traditional d20 campaigns. Not only does this more accurately reflect the world as depicted in the show itself, but it also helps eliminate some of the difficulties posed by the lack of magic items in the setting. For my campaign, i detail how i will be using animals on the Flora and Fauna, which includes both these unique Avatar animals as well as normal D&D 3.5 animals, and any other creatures that can be adapted to fit in the setting.
However, the world of Avatar: the Last Airbender is populated by some unique creatures. These creatures are most frequently chimeric combinations of real-world animals. The list of creatures presented here, while extensive, is not exhaustive.
