The bodies appear to have been wearing armor resembling that worn by members of the Fellowship of the Imperial Order. Upon closer inspection, Fang Po Po notices a weapons rack with a few items signature to Imperial Order military. It appears that this is a Imperial Order fort in the mountains to watch for earth kingdom troop movement. Directly ahead of the group is what used to be a wooden door from that has now been blown apart, a trail of blood leading outside. To the right of the room is a long wooden table and some bunk beds. To the left of the door is the landing to a wooden staircase leading to the second story. Tsing Tao listens closely and hears something pounding against the door up the staircase, and the sounds of labored resistance of men on the other side. The party look into each-others eyes and share a moment of unease and fear. A few moments pass. Kio finds the courage to peer around the corner and look up the staircase. His eyes grow wide. The rest of the group look one by one. They all see what lies at the top of the doorway, and they all know that they are the ones who let it loose upon the world. At the top of the stairs is the hulking form of a Werewolf Spawn.
ur adventurers, tired and wounded, move into the depths of the passageway in front of them. The walls and floor of the cavern are moist with fungi and slime. Kio lights a flame and holds it out to lead the party trough the darkness. As the light illuminates the walls they see a series of holes in the rock, appearing very similar to those they have seen earlier when they encountered harpoon spiders. Aumanil, fearing another encounter with the creatures, advises Fow Bang Chow to seal the holes. The earthbender gladly obliges. As they move further inside Fow Bang Chow continues to seal any openings in the cave walls, until they see that there is light coming through an opening on the right side of the cave ahead. The party moves forward cautiously. As the adventurers move towards the source of light spilling into the cave, they notice a mass of rubble in the opening. Kio looks around the corner of the opening and sees that the wall has been recently tunneled through for a good fifty feet into what appears to be the inside of a wooden building at the end. The party moves slowly into the room, drawing weapons as they go. inside appears to be a wooden fort on the outside of the mountain, and something from inside tore through the earth and broke through the wooden wall on the other side to get out. Inside the room there are two bodies that seem to have been ripped to shreds by some kind of ferocious animal. Entrails and gore thrown all over the room.
A large beast resembling a humanoid wolf, but something very different from either. Its’ massive muscles bulge as it slams over and over again against the door in front of it, tattered pieces of what used to be Imperial Order armor hang from its shoulders. The grunts of terrified men desperate to keep out the ferocious creature come from the other side of the cracked wooden door every time the monster collides with it. Fow Bang Chow begins frantically trying to communicate the urgency of the situation without making a sound. The group understands his desperation and they prepare for a surprise attack on the spawn. The four benders unleash a torrent of elemental furry while Tsing Tao jumps in for a kick to the back. The wolfspawn smashes into the door and turns around to face his new prey. It spins around with incredible speed and roars ferociously down the staircase, blood covering its jaw. The spawn strait arms Tsing Tao back and then jumps right through the thin wood that separates the staircase from the main room, landing 30 feet away on the other side of the table on all fours. The party enters the room and sends blasts at the spawn, trying to take it out as quickly as possible. The beast lunges at Fow Bang Chow and slashes at his chest with his muscular arm leaving a deep gash. As Fow Bang Chow falls back clutching his wound Aumanil follows up with a flurry of ice shards that take down the Werewolf Spawn. As the party fought the werewolf Tsing Tao heard the troops on the other side of the door looking through the cracks and, recognizing them as being on the enemies side, planing to kill them when the werewolf was dead. Aumanil yells out a stern warning should they go through with their plans, and Tsing Tao kicks the door, sending the already damaged wood flying in a burst of wooden shrapnel. Two firebenders of the Imperial order stand on the other side of the door, and as they send out a stream of flames down the staircase Aumanil sends shards of ice in their direction. The shards melt in the flames as they fly through the flamethrower and the party is thrown back by the flames. As they shrug off the flames they rush the Order soldiers and quickly dispatch them. Aumanil follows a trail of blood leading further into the room and finds a man in the corner who seems to be seriously injured. He holds a bloody cloth to his neck and is burning up with serious fever. Tsing Tao feels his necklace tingle against his neck ever so slightly, in fact he thinks he remembers it doing the same thing when he fought the werewolf. This doesn’t make sense to him, for his necklace detects essence of the spirit world, and nothing here could have been involved with the spirits. Unless whatever made these creatures was in some way connected to the spirit world itself. Aumanil begins to use his healing water to look inside the man for the source of the injury while Fow Bang Chow tries to get answers from the man, but gets only mumbles and gurgles in reply, the man is suffering from a very severe fever and is unable to talk, shivering in pain. Aumanil finds a serious bite size gash in the mans throat and begins to heal the wound. He searches for disease or infection but finds none. As he heals the wound, suddenly he is stricken with shock as the mans body begins to warp, his muscles ripping and reforming a hundred times over growing exponentially in size. His bones begin to crack and reform in larger stronger formations and he screams out suddenly in agonizing pain, his eyes filling with blood and teeth growing to points. Kio swiftly slices the man from shoulder to hip with his swords and grimly places them back in their scabbard. The party discusses what information they have gathered about this new threat and make their way back into the cave. As they move forward the encounter a wide opening with small tunnels dug into the walls. A large cow lies dead on the ground. As the party approaches 3 reptilian heads pop up from behind the carcass. One of the creatures moves to the front of the cow and reveals their agile but extremely well built figure. Quick bird like movements bring out their rippling muscles tight under their scaly skin.
Tsing Tao charges forward and lands a kick on the reptiles chest. One of the reptiles, known as a Zezir, jumps on top of the cow and attempts to snap a bite at the martial artist, missing slightly. The last Zezir runs forward and spews a amber colored goo-like substance on the rest of the party members. Fang Po Po uses airbending to expel the goo from his body, a wise decision. As Kio brings forth a fire blast to hit the zezir the good on the part ignites and sets them aflame. As they desperately try to put out the fire Fang Po Po jumps out of the area aflame and lands in front of the reptile bringing down an air scythe with his staff. The zezir is pushed back by the force of the air slash. Meanwhile Tsing Tao exchanges blows with the other two, managing to break ones spine, but the one on top of the cow gets a good bite into his calf dealing him a serious injury. The party finally gets the fire out. The third zezir jumps on top of Fang Po Po pinning him to the ground. The airbender desperately tries to hold back his powerful jaws. Fow Bang Chow comes to his allies defense by bringing a earth column from the side wall and crushing the zezir above Fang Po Po. Tsing Tao manages to kill the last zezir and the party move forward, into the dragons lair. A large cavern in the cave is revealed by light coming from the opening in the mountaintop hundreds of feet above them. A waterfall to their right comes from within the mountain and forms a shallow lake with a sandy island in the middle. On the island a group of chained villagers from Asloth cry for help. Aumanil tries to get to them, but as he goes across the water the fierce black dragon burst threw the waterfall and spews molten fire from its’ maw engulfing the island.
Only one young woman named Kaylee survives by jumping into the water in time. Aumanil managed to bring her to shore. The battle with the dragon was a long and ferocious one, injuries and blood loss taking their tole on both man and beast. Our party is exhausted and beginning to become desperate, but eventually they fell the great creature. As they make it out of the mountain Scylla the Dragon returns to her new airbender friend, and with her consent the party rides her back towards Asloth where they drop off Kaylee and begin to head back to the Southern Air Temple, where they can rest, recover from their battles, and prepare for the first clash in what will undoubtedly become a long and bruatl war between the Dragons of the White Lotus and the Fellowship of the Imperial Order to decide the fate of humanities future.
