ur group finds themselves camped in a cluster of trees a few hours away from the Foothill Village. Quickly making an escape from the village after White Mantel cavalry arrive, the prepares another night open to the elements. Before doing so however, Angela insists on verifying Aumanil’s claim that the virus, while spreading, is not having adverse effects on Talin. Seeing that he is not changing like others who were bit by the Werewolf Spawn, they try to get some sleep. Talin insists on relinquishing his weapon however. The next morning, waking to the embrace of another winter rain shower, Rongo immediately checks on Talin, who seems fine. Aumanil decides to check on the Spirit World virus again, and pouring his healing waters into the rangers body he finds the virus has spread throughout his entire system but that his partial resistance to it is holding strong. After giving the Ranger his sword back, the group moves on.
After about two days of rain and brisk travel, the sun finally shows itself and illuminates the freshly watered plains and meadows. The mood of the group does not brighten however, as it seems the food has begun to run out, and Atka is unable to sent any local fauna. As they keep going, the come across a small section of canyons and are forced to join the main path to use the stone bridge built across the huge expanse. While crossing the bridge, Fang Po Po notices a boulder hurling towards them, but is unable to raise alarm in time. Instead, at great effort he slams the boulder with a gust of wind JUST strong enough to push it off course, avoiding the bridge. Looking across to the dry hills where the boulder came from, Rongo sees three hulking Earth Elementals launching an attack. Elementals are aspects of the four elements. They are minor spirits who appear throughout the world seemingly at random. The higher the frequency of elementals, the thinner the veil of the spirit world has become, indicating that the world is out of balance.
Aumanil, keeping himself and Atka off the bridge, uses his water pouches to create three water tentacles at the front of the wide bridge, preparing to attack any approaching elemental. Talin and Rongo charge forward and meet the elemental at the front of the bridge, slashing at it with their swords and Rongo’s whip of fire, knocking rocks from the Spirits abdomen. The elemental lashes out at Talin with its giant stone sword, knocking him to the side and dealing serious damage. The other two elementals, still perched upon their hills, throw huge boulders at the two warriors. Rongo is able to dodge the first one, but the second clips him in the shoulder, whirling him around and leaving him with a dark bruise. Fang Po Po jumps forward and sends a stream of powerful air into the spirit, but its legs are rooted fast to the ground and he only makes the creature sway back, but makes him unbalanced. Aumanail uses the giants weight against him and assaults him with large tentacles of condensed water, knocking aside huge pieces of rock. Rongo runs past Aumanils tentacles and, seeing the elemental is near defeat, cracks his flaming whip one last time an sends the rocks bursting in all directions.
The two elementals on the hills join the battle, disappearing within the earth and reappearing about 30ft away. The one on the right brings up a huge wall of earth on the bridge, blocking off both Po Po and the two Waterbenders.Angela, seeing the barrier, uses her water to rise above the wall and then freezes it, perching her above the battle. The other elemental comes up behind Rongo and surprising him with another sword attack, this one clipping him in the ribs. Talin charges the other one and swings his mighty Falchion, taking out a generous portion of the creatures stone abdomen. Po Po takes out his glider and flies around the left side of the wall, landing behind the elemental that just attacked Rongo, and lets out a violent wave of condensed air with a slash from his staff, going right trough the elemental and taking half its chest with it. Aumanil brings his water in front of the earth wall and begins slamming it, attempting to break through.Another elemental appears over the hill and lobs a boulder at Talin who barely sidesteps the missile. The left elemental pushes the Earth wall, smashing through aumanils tentacles as wells as break Angelas ice, sending her tumbling to the ground. Po Po and Rongo lash out at the creature and kill it, but by now the fourth one made his way into the fray, only two of them left. The new arrival moves in on the left and, in sync with the other, they bring up two giant walls of earth 15ft high, boxing in the group. Angela brings herself, Talin and Rongo up into the air with water while Po Po leaps out of the box. As the earth walls are pushed into all of them, one wall takes out the water and the other swipes the three of them to the edge. Recovering, the group runs into the battle and the elemental stomps the ground, creating focused tremors that knock down Rongo and Talin. Angela creates a wall of swirling water and freezes it around her and the two warriors, only to have the creature burrow under and appear inside, assaulting her with a stone club. Meanwhile, Aumanil and Po Po take out the other elemental with a concentrated barrage, Po Po almost falling under the massive stone sword. Before long the other is taken down as well. The group makes their way Northeast.
As night falls, the group is tired and low on food, so Aumanil sends Atka hunting and the group takes lodge in a secluded Tavern owned by an Elderly old couple by the names of Neema and Grandpa Lee. The group pays 10 gold each which includes food, lodging, and drinks! The group proceeds to get outrageously drunk. After a warm meal and a pleasant conversation about current events with the old couple, the group are all given silk kimonos and big rooms, a great reprieve from over a week in nothing but a bedroll. As the sun dips low in the sky, the Waterbenders feel their power swell as the Full Moon begins to rise.
Just after falling asleep Talin awakens with a churning in his stomach, probably from the alcohol. Judging by the unease, he can tell he is going to throw up soon and heads out back, making his way to the outhouse about 50ft from the house, making it just in time to empty last nights contents into the pot. Angela, worried, followed behind him. As the cloud cover breaks and the Moon’s bright blue light strikes Talin, his chest erupts in a thunderous pain that leaves him breathless, as it feels like his ribs are trying to break out of his skin. The most ferocious pain he has ever felt burns through his body, as he can feel his muscles rip and repair themselves stronger over and over again in seconds, his bones breaking and reshaping to some horrendous design. The pain is so severe he can barely breath, much less scream out. Angela runs to him and calls his name, rushing to his side. Talin can feel himself losing control and throws her away, surprised by his own strength. He smashes through the outhouse and runs through the forest into the night. Angela gets up and runs after him, alone…
