anting and covered in the grime of battle, the mighty earthbender Fow Bang Chow pulls his sword from the skull of the young dinosaur as Lotus troops cheer all around. The group gathers around the body of the beast they barely managed to slay with the help of the Lotus troops, Po Po holding up the injured waterbender. The Imperial Order troops are overwhelming the Lotus line and the army is losing men quickly. Reibesch declares the retreat and the army begins to fall back, airbenders using streams of air to try and hold back the Order troops until they can get behind the wall. The Sky Bison above drop boulders in concentration to cover the retreat. The party jumps atop Scylla and fly over to the wall where Reibesch meets them and tells them to oversee the holding of the wall until nightfall while he and Arhat secure the rear Fort and form new strategies based on the days events. The party, with the help of Higen and the crimson dragons, have command of the wall defenses. As the army retreats behind the wall the earthbender from Asloth struggles to block incoming catapult shots while the archers on the wall fire volleys at the incoming Order charge until they pull back to the main Order force which is moving up in preparation to siege the wall. The party takes a moment to rest and allow Aumanil to use his healing waters on them. As the Lotus troops effectively move back to the fort the heroes place the wall defenders at strategic positions on the wall at the end of the valley, wedged between the massive rock walls of Mount Patola on either side.
Battle drums sound as the Imperial Order moves forward behind a wall of wooden shields. The party places the archers and most of the firebenders along the wall and the phalanx men behind the second gate. The other firebenders are inside the wall ready to shoot fire through slits in the stone at anyone who gets through the first gate. The sun is setting in the sky as the Order advances, army in front of 2 massive siege towers and a suspended battering ram. The army charges forward and many fall into pit traps the Earthbender from Asloth prepared with the help of Fow Bang Chow. Kio and Tsing Tao hail down a airbender and his sky bison and fly out over the siege tower. The bison rolls and ducks under enemy fire but manages to avoid taking a hit as the two adventurers drop pitch onto the top of the tower and set it aflame. The firebenders inside try to slow the flame but with the pitch fueling it the fire is growing to quick to fast. The two fly back to the wall as the enemy troops arrive and use metal ramps to charge up the wall under a hail of archer volleys. Fow Bang Chow uses his earth columns to target the enemy structures and brings down the battering ram. Aumanil uses a storm of ice to assault the enemy with shards of piercing projectiles.
The enemy is faced with stiff opposition but eventually the siege towers arrive, one of which has already burned beyond use. The second tower approaches to the right side of the wall and drops its ramp, troops pouring out. Fang Po Po makes a funnel of air, directing it at the siege troops while Lotus drops in arrows and flaming pitch, creating a cone of flaming projectiles and pitch. After a long and ferocious battle the group manages to hold off the onslaught and the Order falls back, securing the valley to renew the siege another day. The defenders inflicted serious casualties upon the enemy killing thousands, but they were still heavily outnumbered and their own losses while not as numerous was still a heavy blow to the smaller army. They could rest tonight, but the siege they all knew would come was only beginning…
